The music of the trio BATIK stands on the crossroad of cultures. A Burkinabe singer and kora player, a Polish player of Indian tabla and a French double bassist with a jazz background — three individuals linked by the same love of music and sound of their three instruments. Their music is based on the ancient repertoire of African traditional songs, each musician adding a subtle touch of his own musical experience in order to create a unique acoustic sound. They play songs about ancestral African kings, daily life and love. Their performances are filled with joy and positive energy.
